Rating Criteria for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Rating schedule under 38 CFR 4.88b, DC 6354 (chronic fatigue syndrome). Criteria are simplified summaries; your specific rating depends on severity documented in your C&P exam.
Symptoms that wax and wane resulting in periods of incapacitation of at least one but less than two weeks total per year; or symptoms controlled by continuous medication.
Symptoms nearly constant and restricting routine daily activities by less than 25 percent of the pre-illness level; or symptoms that wax and wane, resulting in incapacitation of two to four weeks total per year.
Symptoms nearly constant and restricting routine daily activities to 50 to 75 percent of the pre-illness level; or symptoms that wax and wane, resulting in incapacitation of four to six weeks total per year.
Symptoms nearly constant and restricting routine daily activities to less than 50 percent of the pre-illness level; or symptoms that wax and wane, resulting in incapacitation of at least six weeks total per year.
Symptoms nearly constant and so severe as to restrict routine daily activities almost completely, and which may occasionally preclude self-care.
