Presumptive eligibility is decided by the VA from your verified service dates and locations. This is a starting point to discuss with a free VSO — not a determination.
For most VA claims you must prove a “nexus” — that your service caused your condition. For presumptive conditions, the VA already accepts that connection based on where and when you served, so you skip that step. The PACT Act of 2022 dramatically expanded the list for burn-pit and toxic-exposure veterans. This tool maps your service to the presumptive paths; always confirm with a free accredited VSO.
