Rating Criteria for Leukemia
Rating schedule under 38 CFR 4.117, DC 7703 (leukemia, except chronic myelogenous leukemia). Criteria are simplified summaries; your specific rating depends on severity documented in your C&P exam.
Assigned when there is active disease or during a treatment phase. The 100% evaluation continues beyond the cessation of any surgical, radiation, antineoplastic chemotherapy, or other therapeutic procedure. A mandatory VA examination is required six months after treatment is discontinued. Symptomatic chronic lymphocytic leukemia at Rai Stages I-IV is evaluated the same as any other leukemia under this code.
Assigned for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or monoclonal B-cell lymphocytosis (MBL) that is asymptomatic at Rai Stage 0. After the mandatory examination, if there has been no recurrence, the condition is rated on its residuals under the appropriate diagnostic code(s).
