Guard and Reserve retirement isn't based on years the way active-duty retirement is — it's based on retirement points. Enter your total career points and rank to estimate your monthly reserve pension, payable at age 60.

Estimated monthly reserve retired pay (at age 60)
$1,124
about $13,490/year · 17.4% multiplier
The formula is DoD's non-regular retirement math: retired pay = your retired-pay base × (2.5% for High-3/Final Pay, or 2.0% for BRS) × (total retirement points ÷ 360). Points ÷ 360 is your “equivalent years of service.”
The pay base should be your High-3 — the average of your highest 36 months of basic pay. This estimate uses the 2026 basic pay for the grade and years you enter as a stand-in; your actual retired pay uses the pay tables in effect over your highest-36-month window.
Payable at age 60 for most reservists. Qualifying active-duty mobilization after Jan 28, 2008 can reduce the start age by 3 months per 90 cumulative days (as early as 50). Reserve retired pay also gets annual COLA. Enter your real total points from your points statement for the best estimate.
