AFFF released over decades created a PFAS groundwater plume extending about four miles southeast of the base. Contamination reached Highland Dairy near Clovis, forcing the euthanization of dairy cows after milk tested unsafe. NMED found PFOS in 99.7% of 628 blood-tested participants.
