Rating Criteria for Prostate Cancer
Rating schedule under 38 CFR 4.115b, DC 7528 (malignant neoplasms of the genitourinary system). Criteria are simplified summaries; your specific rating depends on severity documented in your C&P exam.
Active malignant neoplasm of the genitourinary system, such as prostate cancer. Rated 100 percent during active disease and treatment. Following the cessation of surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or other therapy, the 100 percent rating continues with a MANDATORY VA examination six months after treatment ends. If there is no local recurrence or metastasis, the cancer is thereafter rated on its residuals as voiding dysfunction or renal dysfunction (whichever is predominant) under 38 CFR 4.115a.
